MICROSOFT'S PORTABLE DEVICES GET FANCY REVAMPS
This week in New York, Microsoft added to their expanding premium lineup of portable devices and laptops.
The company redefined the two-in-one computer a few years back and the new Surface Pro 6 hones this design even further. Available in a stylish new black colour or platinum, it’s 67% faster than the last model, with an Intel 8th generation quad-core processor, and it’s still wonderfully light at 1.7lbs. Available with 8GB or 16GB of Ram, the versatility of the Surface is perhaps its most attractive feature. There is seamless switching between laptop, studio or tablet modes and it takes you through a full work-day with 13.5 hours of battery life.
Also announced was the Surface Laptop 2, which has also been supercharged with the 8th generation Intel core. This is more a traditional laptop, but with a premium twist. The alcantara covered keyboard is luxurious and 13.5in PixelSense is dazzling. This new device also delivers a premium level of audio, unusual for a portable PC, with its OmniSonic speakers.
Both new devices are now available to preorder and will ship later this month.
