know her, but the passing of Emma Mhic Mhathúna was deeply affecting. She was only in our community a short time, but her courage in the face of injustice impacted the whole nation.

Her kids played ball for our club and while our club jersey has seen a lot of sad days, I don’t believe it ever witnessed a more emotional day than when it formed a guard of honour at her removal last week.

We pride ourselves in our warrior spirit here, but Emma took that to a different level.
