Review clause is just a sop to Brexit nuts. What harm?
IF THE Taoiseach Leo Varadkar wants to offer Theresa May a meaningless ‘review’ clause in a suggested Brexit agreement, then what’s the problem? The review clause will only be included if the backstop deal on a frictionless border has no expiry date and if Britain cannot legally withdraw from the deal unilaterally.
This so-called review is simply a device to assist the beleaguered British Premier to get the deal past Brexit nuts in her Cabinet. Let her have it, because it makes no difference to anything.
