RTÉ marks centenary
RTÉ will be broadcasting events to mark the centenary of the end of the First World War from 9.45am today.
David McCullagh will present live TV coverage of the Armistice commemoration events at Glasnevin Cemetery and the Arc de Triomphe in Paris on RTÉ One and RTÉ News Now.
This will be followed by live coverage of the Centenary Remembrance Sunday Service from St Macaratin’s Cathedral, Enniskillen at 11.45am on RTÉ One and RTÉ Radio 1 on longwave.
Earlier, a special edition of John Bowman’s archives programme on RTÉ Radio 1 at 8.30am will be followed by a programme featuring writers exploring the theme of remembrance at 9.15am.
The History Show special on RTÉ Radio 1 at 6pm will look at the Irishmen who fought in the war. This will be followed by a Poetry Show special at 7.30pm, presented by Olivia O’Leary.
