Helena does a Margaret … and has a wobbly
HELENA Bonham Carter gave onlookers a staggeringly good impression of the bibulous Princess Margaret as she had to be helped out of a wobbly speedboat, right, after filming for The Crown.
Sporting a colourful costume and large sunglasses, Helena had been shooting sequences for the third series of the drama about the royal family in southern Spain – which is being used to recreate Mustique, where Margaret had a holiday home.
Unlike Margaret – who enjoyed a drink or two – Helena’s struggle to reach dry land wasn’t caused by over-indulgence but the height of the dock.
Set in the 1970s the series features Margaret’s romance with toyboy lover Roddy Llewellyn, played by Harry Treadaway, seen waterskiing, right.
In a bizarre coincidence, Helena, 52, is said to have become ‘inseparable’ from bohemian academic Rye Dag Holmboe, who is 30 years her junior.
