Give Kenny a role

IT IS good news that Mick McCarthy is about to be announced as the new Ireland manager; he has experience and maturity. But let us not forget Stephen Kenny, who has guided Derry City and Dundalk to silverware. It has been reported that Mr Kenny is likely to be appointed under-21 manager and may take over after Euro 2020. Whatever about that, he deserves to have a role in the FAI’s plans. And let us hope this is the beginning of a brilliant renaissance for Irish soccer.
