Aston Martin has begun testing its new DBX SUV – by taking it rallying offroad. The practical five-door off-roader will go on sale late next year (price tbc). Pictured in light camouflage, it is fitted with a 4-litre V8 engine. A petrol-electric hybrid is expected to join the line-up.

Get ready for an electric sports car from Kia. Speaking ahead of the launch of the allelectric e-Niro SUV, Kia’s Peter Schreyer said: ‘Kia is a sporty brand, so why not? Not every electric vehicle has to be an SUV.’ A Kia executive added: ‘Electric doesn’t have to be boring.’
