Mairéad’s going dancing after having a little star
BROADCASTER Mairéad Ronan is preparing to make a dazzling return to our screens after signing up with RTÉ for the forthcoming series of Dancing With The Stars.
The mother of three, who has hosted Ireland’s Fittest Family and Getaways, is hoping she’ll have the stamina to go all the way and win the glitterball.
The announcement is all the more remarkable because Mairéad gave birth to her third child, Bonnie, in August.
‘I’m very excited but I have a big ball of nerves in my stomach! I’ve never done anything glamorous on TV; I’m always out in fields and mucky places with wellies and runners, so now to be in heels and sparkly dresses is both brilliant and brutal,’ she said.
‘The only dancing I do is around the kitchen with my baby, so this is going to be a whole new experience for me.’
Dancing With The Stars returns to our screens after Christmas but training for the 12 contestants starts this month.
Stylist Darren Kennedy is also understood to have agreed to take part while Jennifer Zamparelli is taking over the reins from Amanda Byram as co-host alongside Nicky Byrne.
