Flair Jordan lands Sevens title

Ireland claimed the Dubai Sevens International Invitational Trophy yesterday in Dubai with a 28-21 win over South Africa Sevens Academy.

Jordan Conroy (right) was the man of the moment as he scored a last-gasp try on the hooter to hand Ireland their first success at the tournament.

The winners’ first three tries came though Conroy, John O’Donnell and Adam Leavy, with captain Billy Dardis landing all three conversions. The Ireland team hope to compete at the World Rugby Sevens Series this time next year in Dubai. They will be aiming to claim a place at next season’s qualification tournament which will be held in Hong Kong in April.
