Ben spices it up with songs but he’s not in Una’s league

-

UNA HEALY’S ex Ben Foden is venturing into her domain as he prepares to sing his heart out on a celebrity TV talent show hosted by Geri Halliwell.

The 33-year-old rugby player, who moved to the US year after splitting with Una in July, will join a singing scrum of famous faces vying to win over a panel of 100 judges led by Spice Girl Geri for a star-studded BBC One Christmas special All Together Now Celebrities.

The field will include such luminaries as Gemma Collins from The Only Way Is Essex, footballer turned pundit Chris Kamara, This Morning’s Alison Hammond and actress Laurie Brett (formerly Jane in Eastenders). You’d know their faces. Comedians Sara Pascoe and Omid Djalili, Love Island’s Amber Davies, and actor Tyger Drew-Honey will also take part. No, me neither.

Foden has said that as a teen he could have had a promising musical career ahead of him. Shortly after signing his first rugby contract aged 18, young pup Ben auditioned for Pop Idol. However the follow-up audition clashed with his rugby training – and that, as they say, was that. He went on to impress another Spice Girl, Emma Bunton, last year with a rendition of John Legend’s All Of Me on TV sports quiz A League Of Their Own. No doubt Ben would be the first to admit that his singer-songwriter ex-wife, pictured, formerly of The Saturdays, is in an altogether different league musically. Will Una tune in to see how he fares?
