‘A form of medical abuse’

Vicky Phelan has described what happened in the cervicalcheck scandal as a form of ‘medical abuse’. She said that she was given six months to live and was recommended palliative care when there was hope. She told irish Mail on Sunday this week: ‘Only for the fact that i was in a position to go off and research everything myself i wouldn’t be here today, literally. another woman could have walked in, literally getting the same news as me and that woman would probably be dead. Too many people don’t question doctors or don’t think that there are other options.’
