the club’s players, including Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Alexandre Lacazette and 19-year-old Matteo Guendouzi (left), who all started in yesterday’s win over Huddersfield, was called into question after footage emerged of some Arsenal stars using balloons to inhale the legal high nitrous oxide gas at a party in London in August.

Arsenal have reprimanded the players and Emery will also speak to them to get their version of events before deciding on disciplinary action. But Emery insisted the furore did not impact on his side’s preparations for yesterday’s win.

‘You are speaking about the problem outside here but for me and the club we can speak about that and say no distraction,’ said Emery. ‘I don’t want any distraction and today the players were focused on the match. We wanted it and we deserved to win.’

Emery then made it clear he would not be answering any more questions about the incident.
