King Henry eyes new crown
HENRY Shefflin said he can’t believe that his native Ballyhale Shamrocks have reached an All-Ireland club final in his first year in charge.
Shefflin said that their primary aim was to have a good season in Kilkenny but he is thrilled that they have pushed on and are now looking forward to an eighth All-Ireland club final, having won each of their last six.
St Thomas from Galway will meet them in the final but Shefflin feels they still have room for improvement.
‘We probably hadn’t played against a team like Ballygunner before.
‘We knew scores were going to be tight to come by. That is the way it was. I’m absolutely thrilled,’ he said.
Ballyhale Leaving Cert student Eoin Cody emerged the hero with 1-4 from play.
