Jersey Boys actor to bid farewell at Dublin show

-

WEST END star Lewis Griffiths will bid a ‘fond farewell’ to his 20-year touring career when he takes to the stage in Dublin next month.

The Jersey Boys actor, who plays the role of Nick Massi in the sellout musical, says he’s had enough of life on the road and now wants to settle down in London with his fiancée.

He told Talk of the Town: ‘I played in Dublin in 2015. It was a cracking audience. We did two weeks before and we’re back for another two weeks this time.

‘I’ve spent the last eight years touring consistently, so this production of Jersey Boys marks the end of my touring career and, hopefully, I’ll find something more home-based. So it’s a fond farewell return to the Bord Gáis for me.’

Dublin will always hold a special place in Griffiths’ heart however as it was here that he and his fiancée decided to make their relationship ‘official’ and he also hopes to host his stag party in the capital.

‘I have never come to Dublin and not had a good time,’ he said. ‘And it is also where myself and my fiancée had our second date!

‘We are getting married in France next year, so dreams do come true.’

Griffiths began his career in the West End at the tender age of 14.

He added: ‘I wasn’t really sure what I wanted to do with my life, I’m not the most academically blessed person. I was a Jack-of-all-trades, master-of-none. I developed a love and a passion for acting and it snowballed into a career. Fortunately, I’m 34 this year and I am still in the business so I must be doing something right.’
