Suits? It’s all about skirts for Robert

Thighs the limit for Love/Hate’s Sheehan

FORMER LOVE/HATE actor Robert Sheehan has firmly ditched his attire of tracksuits and trainers for a slightly more eclectic couture collection.

The actor, from Co. Laois, stepped out this week for the premiere of his new show, Netflix’s Umbrella Academy.

The talented thespian rocked the red carpet in an all-white vintage sheer smock with a polo neck, a Liu Chen coat with metal detail embellished throughout and a pair of Manolo Blahnik boots

Sheehan’s style has been evolving for some time – and he has a penchant for less-than-conventional fashion including skirts and navel-baring tops.

In Umbrella Academy, Sheehan is making a name for himself in the superhero genre.

And proving that not all superheroes wear capes he has also been spotted in a tartan knee-length cape which he teamed with another of his favourite mesh T-shirts.

Before his preference for skirts emerged, Sheehan enjoyed stepping out in bright and quirky trousers and bold brightly-patterned suits.

He was pictured at a glitzy bash in daring red trousers, eschewing the traditional attire of black tailored suits.

He also sat down for an interview wearing skin-tight patterned leggings which he wore to great effect with a skin-tight white T-shirt, a green scarf and black biker boots.

Another picture saw him relax in a private plane donning zig-zag patterned trousers with a relaxed navy jumper and sporting some trendy trimmed facial hair.

The actor – who shot to fame at home as Darren, the criminal with a heart in RTÉ’S Love/Hate – now splits his time between London and LA.

Sheehan recently spoke about his sexuality, saying he has questioned himself over his orientation.

‘I think it would be irresponsible not to question my sexuality. I had a couple of experiences when I was younger with dudes where I tried it, experimented, to see if it did anything for me. And it didn’t,’ he told Hot Press magazine.

Sheehan plays the flamboyant Klaus, who can see dead people, in the TV adaptation of the popular graphic novel Umbrella Academy, alongside singer Mary J Blige.

He recently said: ‘I buy mostly ladies’ clothes. I think to be yourself, first and foremost, that’s the easiest way to think about it.’
