The winners keep on flowing for best performers

AHEAD of racing at Gowran Park yesterday, Jessica Harrington had sent out 39 winners over jumps in Ireland this season, for prizemoney of almost €1m.

This followed her most successful Flat haul in 2018 where she saddled 43 winners in Ireland alone, worth €1.5m.

In the jockeys table, Rachael Blackmore had 76 winners, six behind leader Paul Townend. A treble at Gowran yesterday helped her close the gap. Lisa O’Neill, an amateur rider, was on 18 winners with Katie O’Farrell, a pro, on six.

In 2016-17, Blackmore rode 32 winners and was champion conditional jockey. Last season, with no claim, she had 34.
