Keane grounded despite beating champs Dublin

-

NEW Kerry team boss, Peter Keane maintains he is living from week to week in the League, and is refusing to take any team for granted despite a massive victory over Dublin in the last round.

‘What pleased me most is that the lads went out into what was a cauldron (in Tralee against the Dubs),’ says Keane. ‘There is no question about it, there was a tremendous atmosphere. They did not back down from it, they embraced it and they went about their business in the best possible way they could. Yeah, it was tight enough as the legs were tiring but we stayed the course.’

Facing Galway in Tuam this afternoon, however, Keane knows that the challenges will continue to get bigger for his young team.

‘Not that I have seen all the games with what we have been doing ourselves, but it looks like a very competitive division...and we are not thinking beyond our next game against Galway on Sunday.’

Tommy Walsh starts at fullforward, as Keane makes four changes. The former Sydney Swan replaces Paul Geaney in attack while Mark Griffin is named at midfield, rather than Adrian Spillane, Gavin Morley comes in for the injured Tadhg Morley and Shane Enright replaces Brian Ó Beaglaoich, who is suspended after the fracas at the end of that classic tie in Austin Stack Park.

Despite guiding UCC to Sigerson glory during the week, the gifted Sean O’Shea remains at centre-forward.
