Two pensioners killed in house blaze horror

TWO men were killed in a fire at a house in Dublin yesterday.

Gardaí are investigat­ing after the two fatalities in Drimnagh.

At about 1.45pm gardaí and firefighte­rs were called to the Slievebloo­m Park area of Drimnagh.

The fire was brought under control by Dublin Fire Brigade and the bodies of two men, thought to be in their late 60s and early 70s, were discovered inside.

Both men were pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers from Sundrive Road Station preserved the scene and the bodies of the men were taken to Dublin City Mortuary in Whitehall where post-mortem examinatio­ns will be conducted by the State Pathologis­t today.

Gardaí at Sundrive Road Station have appealed for witnesses to assist their investigat­ion into the deadly blaze.
