In 2007, this cosy detective drama (starring Michael Kitchen as Foyle, left) was axed by ITV, but such was the outcry that it was back a year later. This is the first of a repeat from the start, continuing every weeknight and opening with the murder of a German woman. Look out for Rosamund Pike.
