Like Friends, this is perfect sofa fodder

After a break-up, quirky twentysomething teacher Jess (Zooey Deschanel, left) moves into a loft apartment where she shares with three young men. The sitcom follows their relationships with each other and with their romantic partners. Initially, Jess was promoted as being ‘simply adorkable’, which sounds unbearably twee and cutesy, but actually the show is funny and big-hearted and an ideal comfort watch. It’s set in LA rather than New York but it has a lot of the same DNA as Friends. If you loved that, you’ll like this, too. Seasons 1-7, available now
