Pecking order, not protocol, is source of princesses’ row
ACCORDING to high-society bible Tatler, relations between Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle soured over a row about the flower girls for the latter’s wedding. It seems the freewheeling Californian wanted the children to go barelegged on the sunny day while Kate insisted on tights as a mark of respect to Queen Elizabeth. Given how as a new bride, Kate delivered so many Marilyn Monroe scenes of skirts billowing around her waist, royal underwear on full display, her support for opaque tights seems unlikely. It also suggests, perhaps, that their disagreement was more about Kate lording it over the bride- to-be than royal protocol.
