Laura lops off Iain’s lockdown locks in cutting-edge class

LAURA Whitmore is among the legions of people who have taken matters into their own hands by administering home haircuts during lockdown.

The London-based Love Island host is pictured shearing boyfriend Iain Stirling after receiving a tutorial over Zoom from celebrity stylist Ricky Walters.

The Bray native and her Scottish comedian beau are holed up in lockdown together in the UK, but the Love Island narrator’s mane was getting out of control, it seems.

And although she didn’t try to give her own blonde locks the chop, Laura tamed Iain’s tresses after getting a masterclass from the Salon64 owner, who says his online classes have been popular with

clients. ‘Having spent the last 13 years in the London hairdressing scene, I never thought there would be such a thing as digital trim,’ Ricky said.

‘This said, it has solved a huge gap in the market and a solution to a current issue we are all facing during lockdown.

‘I have found more and more clients contacting me privately asking for solutions to their overgrown locks.

‘Although the retail sector has closed its doors, offices and back-of-house departments, as well as finance and big businesses, are still very much operational from home.

‘Many of my clients consist of CEOs and public speakers with very serious job titles and all are being laughed out of their Zoom calls due to the state of their hair.

‘I have started to talk partners, husbands, wives and children through how to cut the man in their life’s hair while trapped with them in lockdown, all over a Zoom call.’

Using hair clips as marker points, Ricky describes over the Zoom call exactly what needs to be done, how and where. ‘Although it is not the same as a hairdresser cutting your hair, the results are pretty good,’ he insisted.

‘It is better than an online tutorial where you cannot ask questions or check if you are doing it correctly and takes away a slice of the risk factor.

‘Now very experienced at digital trims, I have unleashed this concept upon my entire client base. Even my celebrity client Laura Whitmore has cut partner Iain Stirling’s hair, with a little added help via Zoom from myself, and Laura has done an incredible job.’
