WARNOCK’S 5 TO WATCH THIS SEASON

-

IVAN TONEY

Club: Brentford Age: 24 Position: Striker

Warnock’s verdict: A prolific striker in League One with Peterborough. Has the talent and the team around him to make the step-up in the Championship.

CURTIS NELSON

Club: Cardiff Age: 27 Position: Centre-back

Warnock’s verdict: I’ve got a soft spot for him because I signed him on a free when I was at Cardiff. Classy defender. Very rarely lets you down.

SAM CLUCAS

Club: Stoke City Age: 29 Position: Central midfielder

Warnock’s verdict: Super midfielder who can be very influential in matches. One of the reasons I think Stoke will have a decent season.

JOE LOLLEY

Club: Nottingham Forest Age: 28 Position: Winger

Warnock’s verdict: Scores goals and creates goals.

Very good attacking midfielder who will be a big asset for Forest.

GERARD DEULOFEU

Club: Watford Age: 26 Position: Winger

Warnock’s verdict: I know he’s out injured at the moment but he’s absolute quality on the ball. Shone in the Premier League and will be a nightmare for defenders in the Championship.

Did you know: Since his Premier League debut for Watford, no one at the club has attempted more shots (132) than the former Barcelona man, while only Abdoulaye Doucoure has created more chances (85).
