In the 1970s, French con man Charles Sobhraj (Tahar Rahim) lures his victims into a web of deceit before robbing and killing them. Aided by his devoted girlfriend, MarieAndre­e Leclerc (a great performanc­e by Jenna Coleman, right with Rahim), Sobhraj evades capture – until Dutch diplomat Herman Knippenber­g (Billy Howle) is unwittingl­y embroiled in Sobhraj’s crimes, and the real cat-and-mouse game begins…
