The vibrant, button-pushing Yorkshire school drama opens its fourth series in a teatime slot with a half-hour running time, which gives it the air of a grown-up Grange Hill. Jo Joyner returns as teacher Mandy, while there are plenty of new faces among the pupils, including best friends Kayla and Fizza, plus the cocky Johnny, who serves as a bit of a heartthrob for both.

Claire is having a crisis – and it must be serious, because she turns to her sister for help. Martin also wants answers, while
