DNA tests to help identify Lambay body

-

GARDAí in Balbriggan have launched an investigation after a body was found by workers on Lambay Island off the north Dublin coast.

The remains were discovered by staff on the privately owned island on Thursday evening, a Garda spokesman said last night. The remains have been removed to the Dublin

City Morgue ahead of a postmortem.

The spokesman added: ‘The results of a post-mortem examination, and DNA analysis by Forensic Science Ireland, will assist investigating gardaí in confirming the identity of the remains, and with the course of their investigations. Enquiries are ongoing.’
