Toon tie up £33m deal as Conte raids Juve

LIVERPOOL

Porto’s Luis Diaz underwent his medical with the Anfield club last night as he closed on a £37million transfer.

The 25-year-old Colombia internatio­nal, known as ‘Noodle’ because of his wiry frame and currently in Argentina, is expected to sign a five-year contract once he gets the all-clear.

Liverpool are willing to offload Takumi Minamino, Divock Origi and Nat Phillips to help offset their spend on Diaz.

Leeds have asked about taking Minamino on loan while Newcastle have had a request to take Phillips on loan rejected. Liverpool want £15m for the defender. Neco Williams could also depart with Brentford among his admirers.

NEWCASTLE

The club have reached agreement with Bruno Guimaraes and Lyon ahead of his £33million transfer. The 24-year-old passed his medicals while on internatio­nal duty in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, yesterday and has agreed a four-year contract without a relegation clause. The fee includes a further £6.7m in add-ons.

Newcastle are continuing to pursue a number of signings with their latest £10m bid for Brighton defender Dan Burn rejected yesterday. They have also asked about Liverpool defender Nat Phillips.

TOTTENHAM

Spurs are attempting to hijack Aston Villa’s bid for Juventus midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur. After being rebuffed 24 hours earlier in an attempt to take the Uruguay internatio­nal on loan, Tottenham returned with a £25m offer, £3m more than Villa’s last bid which was rejected.

Tottenham are also in discussion­s with Juventus for Swedish winger Dejan Kulusevski. That deal would be a loan with £832,000 fee plus am option to buy at £25m.

Manager Antonio Conte had hoped to clear Tanguy Ndombele off the wage bill but a move to PSG has stalled. Talks are ongoing over a loan out for Giovani Lo Celso, with Lyon having agreed terms and Villarreal making a late push, while winger Bryan Gil is expected to join Valencia.

Tottenham have also been considerin­g a £32m offer for Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz.

EVERTON

The Goodison club are rivalling Crystal Palace in a bid to sign Donny van de Beek on loan from

Manchester United. Everton are looking to add two or three signings but signing a new midfielder is a priority. Chelsea pair Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Ross Barkley have come under discussion.

BURNLEY

Sean Dyche is closing on the £12m signing of Wout Weghorst from Wolfsburg. Talks have been on and off for the past fortnight but had become more positive in recent days. The Holland striker, who is 6ft 6in, hopes to have a deal agreed over the next 24 hours.

Dinamo Zagreb winger Mislav Orsic turned down an offer from Burnley. Burnley remain in the hunt for Juventus midfielder Aaron Ramsey on loan.

WOLVES

Winger Adama Traore has returned to his former club

Barcelona on loan. The 26-yearKold

will remain with the La Liga giants for the rest of the season and there is an option to make his move to the Nou Camp permanent.

MAN UNITED

Phil Jones is the subject of talks over a loan move to Bordeaux. The centre-back, 29, has made just one appearance this season but impressed with an assured performanc­e against Wolves 712 days after his last first-team appearance.

ARSENAL

Have rejected a second bid from Crystal Palace for striker Eddie Nketiah. Nketiah has entered the final six months of his contract and has interest from Borussia Monchengla­dbach, Brighton and West Ham.

BRIGHTON

The club are making a move for prolific striker Deniz Undav from Belgian side Union Saint-Gilloise. The 25-year-old is expected to remain on loan with USG, who are co-owned by Brighton chairman Tony Bloom, for the rest of the season. Brighton are also signing 18-year-old Paraguay forward Julio Enciso from Libertad for £6m.

BARCELONA

Ousmane Dembele is hoping to secure a move to the Premier League before tomorrow’s deadline. The France internatio­nal is available for around £18m as he is out of contract in the summer. He has been offered to a number of English teams but it is understood his representa­tives are focusing on interest from two clubs in particular, as yet unnamed.
