HOW THEY RATED

- Marks out of 10 Rob O’Halloran

Ireland HUGO KEENAN 7

Rare knock-on under a high ball aside, another secure display in the backfield in difficult conditions.

ANDREW CONWAY 8

Excellent chasing under high ball. Had a lot to do for first try. Second was more routine. So reliable.

GARRY RINGROSE 8

Fleet-footed in centre and showed world class quality to scythe Wales apart for his try.

BUNDEE AKI 7

Took good position for opening try. Sucked defenders in and committed in contact. Made 11 carries.

MACK HANSEN 8

Great assist for Aki, did his defensive work and made 94 metres. Ideal debut.

JOHNNY SEXTON 7

Excellent handling in the loose. Some remarkable conversions, but multiple misses too.

JAMISON GIBSON-PARK 6

Poor first half summed up by shocking ball to Aki. However, good awareness for Conway try.

ANDREW PORTER 8

His jackal turnovers are becoming a trademark. Rock solid at the scrum, as his reputation continues to soar.

RONAN KELLEHER 7

Relatively error free at lineout bar one overthrow, forced a forward pass from Rees-Zammit. Lively.

TADHG FURLONG 8

Audacious first-half offload one of his best. Hard hits but soft hands and typically strong in the scrum.

TADHG BEIRNE 8

Error gifted Wales a try, but typically strong with turnovers and a key carry for Conway’s first score.

JAMES RYAN 7

Big hits on Biggar and Beard. Made fine lineout steal but spurned good try chance with a poor line.

CAELAN DORIS 8

Bruising carries gave Wales trouble from the start. Did his bit in build-up to Ringrose’s try. Good line-speed.

JOSH VAN DER FLIER 7

Knock-on the only blight on a display full of effective carrying and a fine break lead to a try.

JACK CONAN 8

Major first-half turnovers halted brief Welsh momentum. Typically explosive from back of the scrum.
