ONE of the thousands of emergency 999 calls cancelled by gardaí was from a woman who had just been raped and feared her attacker was returning, the Irish Mail on Sunday can reveal.

Another cancelled call was from a woman in Dublin who was being attacked by a man with a weapon and feared for her life.
