■ SOME MOTHERS DO ’AVE ’EM

-

Stacey suspects something’s not quite right with her mum. Er, when has it ever been? Leaving aside the issues of her mental health and cancer, she has the permanent look of someone carrying the weight of the world on their shoulders – literally and metaphorically. It can’t help having Stacey’s frown around – a crevice so deep, it threatens (or frettens, as Our Stace might say) to swallow up anyone who might dare to express a modicum of good cheer. When Jean tells her daughter (both pictured) she’s taken a shine to Harvey (Jean really can pick ’em), maybe Stacey (for once) has grounds for concern.
