REALITY star Matthew MacNabb failed to find love on the island, but the Belfast man has confirmed he’s ‘MacNabbed’ a new ‘significant other’ on RTÉ’s Dancing With The Stars.

Fitness enthusiast Matthew is one of this year’s troupe of celebrities dancing it out for the coveted glitterball.

And MacNabb revealed that while he loves learning to dance, he also loves his new romance.

While asked if he was still single, the reality star replied, ‘I’ve been dating a few weeks now. It’s early days, so I want to keep it relatively quiet. But she does live in Dublin’.

A law undergraduate, Matthew tried his first stab at meeting his match on the reality show circuit when he made an appearance on Love Island. He later revealed the show had put something of a curse on Cupid’s bow.

He told the Irish Mail on Sunday: ‘I go with the flow to see how things happen. But it is a little bit tougher to date girls online now because I used to just go on [dating app] Hinge before Love Island. Obviously you can’t do that now and you have to be more careful on Instagram DMs, because you don’t know who you are talking to. Anyone could be trying to trick you.’ Rumours had abounded of a romance between Matthew and his professional dance partner Laura Nolan. But Laura quashed the rumours saying, ‘I am not single’.

And the Co. Down man is refusing to reveal his new love interest’s identity, but said, ‘She is well known – we met through the show’.

Currently ensconced in Dublin for the duration of DWTS, Matthew says he plans to travel the world and chart his adventures on his new app.

‘I’m working on a fitness app. It will be about physical and mental transformation. I want to travel the world.’ And he said his new lady ‘probably will be travelling with me’.

But for now, he’s concentrating on dancing his way to the final of the competition. ‘I’m in it to win it!’ he says.
