COLUMNS OF COLOUR

Colour is the new black this season so it’s time to embrace searing shots of bright shades, worn from head to toe

-

Colour-phobes look away, as bright, bold colour is here to stay and is one of 2022’s biggest trends.

There was no escaping the shots of joyful colour from the spring 2022 runways and even the front row, and it’s now making its way to the high street. But unlike previous seasons where one colour reigned supreme, this season it’s about all of the colours, from kelly green to Barbie pink.

Worn either clashed or tonally, it’s not for the colour faint-hearted. There’s no dipping a toe into vibrant hues; instead, it’s about deep-diving in and embracing head-to-toe hues.

Designers Versace, Chloe, Max Mara and Valentino all showcased monochromatic outfits, choosing one shade in elegant columns of colour.

Easily recreated at home, it’s about either choosing a one-colour wonder like a midi or suit and coordinating with a shoe and handbag in a similar tone. Or try coordinating separates like a knit, coat, and trousers in the same palette for an elegant and striking ensemble.

If you’re feeling intimated, let the high street do the hard work and pick a colourful co-ord where they’ve done the hue matching for you.
