Lily: I was Emily in Agony due to high heels

- By Katie Hind

EMILY In Paris star Lily Collins was left in such pain from walking on the cobbled streets of Paris in high heels that she needed weekly sessions with a podiatrist.

The actress, who plays ambitious American marketing executive Emily Cooper in the popular Netflix series, had insoles fitted to every pair of shoes in an effort to reduce the discomfort, but still had to seek professional help.

‘Now I just want to go to streets where you can wear flats. Because wearing heels – you would not believe how painful that can be in Paris!’ said the 33-year-old daughter of singer Phil Collins.

‘I went to a podiatrist every week to fix my feet because I was wearing heels all the time. And I had to have insoles made for every pair of shoes. I am not kidding. I felt pretty ancient,’ she

said in a TV interview with US chat-show host Jimmy Fallon.

The actress has also revealed that she once failed an audition for a part as a superhero, but hopes to get another opportunity.

‘I have done the superhero audition. That would be really fun,’ she said.

‘I’m not the kind of actor who says I’d never do that. It’s a thing I’m open to, and I’ve definitely been in the audition room.’

Lily has also set her sights on performing in a West End show, and says she’d love it if Richard Curtis, the creator of hits including Notting Hill and Love Actually, would give her a role in one of his films.

‘I can’t even tell you how much I would love to do a Richard Curtis movie. I’m such a big fan of his,’ she said.

‘Those movies define so much of an era for me growing up. They are so wonderful.’
