Here, the king of the travelogue, Michael Palin (pictured), remembers the series that took him across the world’s highest mountain range. For the actor, it was the culmination of a childhood dream, inspired by the 1953 ascent of Everest by Hillary and Tensing. His own journey began at the famous Khyber Pass, before he reached Everest.
