The Ordinary’s Salicylic 2% Solution was a topical fix-it buy to deeply clean pores to reduce breakouts. And if a spot threatened, it would bring down redness and stop its progression faster than anything. It had a huge fan base among oilier skin types but wasn’t really suitable for drier skin types. The brand has launched an Anhydrous version, replacing the water content of the original with squalane which cares for and hydrates dry skin. It still clears breakouts but in a gentler fashion.
