Man arrested after €1.75m drugs seizure

A MAN has been arrested after gardaí seized a suspected €1.75m worth of cocaine in Dublin.

Gardaí confirmed the suspect was arrested after they stopped and searched a vehicle on St Cuthberts Road in Clondalkin at around 5.30pm yesterday, finding 25kg of suspected cocaine which will be sent for analysis to Forensic Science Ireland.

Gardaí said the man they arrested in relation to the incident is aged in his 30s. He was taken to Clondalkin Garda Station for questioning, where he can be detained for a period of up to seven days.

Gardaí have also confirmed that investigations into yesterday’s incident – which was carried out as part of Operation Tara – are ‘ongoing’.
