Jo Malone London’s Blossoms collection is instantly recognisable by the distinctive glass bottles and ball-shaped lids. Centred around an individual flower, the scents are mostly limited-editions with popular ones often reappearing. Two new colognes have already been launched this year, Sea Daffodil and Bitter Mandarin. New release Moonlit Camomile Night centres around the leaves of delicate chamomile with white moonflowers and enveloping musk notes.

Musc Noir Rose is a new take on Musc Noir, it’s less dark but more sensual. Top notes include citrus Italian bergamot, pink pepper and plum, the heart has voluptuous Tuberose, a heady white flower. Musc is at the core with creamy vanilla, rich suede accords and a final fling of patchouli. Sensual, feminine and very chic.

Luxury lingerie brand La Perla has diversified into home scenting and fragrance in recent years, and just recently its nine-piece perfume line has landed in Ireland. Just Give Me Roses has a beautifully elegant blend. It starts off spicy with black and pink pepper, plus saffron, before Damask, Turkish and Geranium roses sit together as the heart notes. The dry down is described as powdery and comforting as it comes from a blend of musk, cedar, vanilla, and tobacco. Deliciously decadent.

Shades of the Riviera are everywhere in the eyes, face colour, and lipstick options from burnt ochre to olive brown, colours that work with all skin tones. This Lumière long-wear eyeshadow can be worn solo for a sheer golden wash on the lids or over a different shadow to add a touch of light and sparkle.

Long-wear shadow sticks are a busy woman’s best friend. Simple to scribble on and forget about, the sticks fit nicely with the trend for a sheer wash of lid colour. They are great for hooded or oilier eyelids where shadow might crease or smudge, but there hasn’t been a great option for different shades. In April, IT Cosmetics are launching 12 shades, six matte and the rest in a pearl finish. The colours are wearable and range from gold, copper and browns with more options. Fast and easy beauty.

The Summer Look Palette is available from May 2 Beauty editors and fans alike mark the start of summer with the arrival of Lauder’s Bronze Goddess collection. Centered around a scent with salted coconut and beachy notes, it also includes two bronzing palettes for sunkissed skin and glow, one for light skin tones, the other for deeper. Star of the show is the covetable Summer Look Palette, a large palette of shadows with a centre highlighter for the face and eyes. Inspired by summer, the shadows come in matte and sparkle finishes.

L’Oréal Elvive’s 8-Second Wonder Water was the biggest hair product of 2021, selling a bottle per minute at one stage last year. A high shine, glossing product that’s used a few times each week instead of conditioner, in just eight seconds it transforms dull lifeless hair giving it mirror-like shine. For 2022, the brand has incorporated an acidic complex into the original to restore hair colour. You get all of the shine, but any stains or discolouration is removed to reveal salon-fresh colour again.

€10.66 (RRP €15.99), Boots until May 3 Skincare sticks are a big hit with younger beauty fans but they are great for travelling too. Skin Proud has some great budget options. This pore-clearing detox mask looks just like a clay mask when applied and rinses as easily. Cruelty-free, 100% vegan and unisex, it has white clay to remove impurities and clean pores, moisturising amino acids and a little sesame oil to hydrate the skin.
