Fast Eddie in pole position with plush Miami pad

-

FORMER Formula One driver turned property mogul ‘Fast’ Eddie Irvine has just listed his latest mega-mansion in Miami for rent.

Belfast-born Irvine, pictured below, who drove for Ferrari during the halcyon Michael Schumacher years, has been living life in the fast lane of high-end property since his F1 days.

The savvy investor snapped up the Greek-inspired Villa Athena, on Hibiscus Island – a plush Miami Beach neighbourhood – for $10.5m last May, and has spent the last year renovating the stunning waterfront house.

With work complete, Irvine is keen to recoup some of his investment by enticing the rich and famous to stay at the idyllic mansion. For those seeking to holiday in sumptuous style, the villa is available for rent from May, if their budget allows.

Overlooking Biscayne Bay, the white stucco property boasts a main house, guesthouse, boathouse and cabana, along with an office, a gymnasium and movie theatre.

Records show Irvine’s company, Mega Miami Beach LLC, bought the home at 24 South Hibiscus Drive in Miami Beach from Astoria Holdings Limited, a British Virgin Islands company. Over the past 15 years, the property mogul has been fortuitous in Florida, where he has flipped a number of homes for vast profits.

In 2021 he sold a waterfront property on the Venetian Islands off Florida’s eastern coast for $17.1m.

In December the same year he bought another Venetian Islands property for $7.6m. Irvine also parted with his stunning waterside mansion in Dalkey last year for €3.5m. ‘Ischia’ is located on Sorrento Road, where the neighbours include Bono, Enya and Van Morrison. These days Fast Eddie spends his time flitting between his private Caribbean island, Miami and Europe.
