Mino’s mission will continue, say family after agent’s death
MINO RAIOLA, the football super agent who died yesterday aged 54, left plans in place for the future of his clients.
Raiola represented some of the game’s most high-profile players and brokered some of the biggest transfers, but had been battling illness since January.
His client list included Paul Pogba, a free agent this summer, and Borussia Dortmund’s coveted striker Erling Haaland. Sportsmail understands Paris SaintGermain are favourites to sign Pogba, while Manchester City remain hopeful of a deal for Haaland.
‘Mino’s mission of making football a better place for players will continue,’ the agent’s family said yesterday.
‘In infinite sorrow we share the passing of the most caring and amazing football agent that ever was. Mino fought until the end with the same strength he put on negotiation tables to defend our players. As usual, Mino made us proud and never realised it.
‘Mino touched so many lives through his work and wrote a new chapter in the history of modern football. His presence will forever be missed.’
Raiola was reportedly suffering from a lung condition not linked to Covid-19.
