There is one upside to Marlon’s relapse...

-

Mark Charnock is extraordinary in his compelling performance as Marlon struggles after suffering a stroke. Events take another turn for the worse when he ends up in hospital again and is diagnosed with aspiration pneumonia. It’s a step backwards for Rhona and him, and Paddy is shocked when Bear blames himself. At least Rhona (above, with Marlon) will have no time to buy another hat, a prop that made her look as though she’d had a close encounter with a woolly mammoth. When she gave it to April a couple of weeks back, the child couldn’t have looked less pleased than if she’d lost an iPad and had it replaced with an Etch A Sketch.

The drugszzzzzz tedium keeps dragging on when Suzy is seen with a bag of white powder; suffice to say that she’s not planning to ice a cake with it. Celebrating their deal with Eddie, Suzy and Leyla enjoy their coke (not the cola kind – getting the drift here?), but will Vanessa guess what the pair are up to when she walks in on them?

Noah has returned to extremely creepy mode and finds himself having to hide in the wardrobe while snooping around Chloe’s bedroom. It gives a whole new meaning to being in the closet.
