Glamorous Amal hits New York... with Mum

SHE might sometimes have to wear a barrister’s gown and horsehair wig, but outside court Amal Clooney, left, cuts a more glamorous figure.

The human-rights lawyer presented more evidence for her status as a style icon, arriving at her New York hotel in a ferocious display of leopard-print coat and above-the-knee leather boots.

The 44-year-old has had a busy week in the city, where she addressed the United Nations on the war in Ukraine. She described the country as a ‘slaughterhouse’, urging nations to hold Russia accountable for its barbarism. But she has also been able to spend time with her mother, Lebanese journalist Baria Alamuddin, inset.

Absent from New York were husband George Clooney and their five-year-old twins. Clooney is thought to be in England filming. Maybe time away from the children explains how Amal looks so fresh, despite the often harrowing nature of her work.
