CRISTIANO RONALDO and his girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez have named their baby daughter Bella Esmeralda, three weeks after her twin brother died at birth.

Ms Rodriguez, 28, posted the announcement on the social media platform Instagram, alongside three photographs of the infant asleep in her cot.

face with a tiny hand. A caption read, ‘Bella Esmeralda’, with a green heart and her birth date.

Thousands of Manchester United star Ronaldo’s followers left supportive messages under the post, including Piers Morgan, who wrote: ‘Beautiful!’.

The images are in contrast to the couple’s announcement on April 18 that the baby’s twin brother had been stillborn. They wrote: ‘It is with our deepest sadness we have to announce that our baby boy has passed away. It is the greatest pain that any parents can feel.

‘Only the birth of our baby girl gives us the strength to live this moment with some hope and happiness.’ Shortly after the tragedy, Ronaldo posted an update to his 437 million Instagram followers that the newborn was home from hospital. A photo showed the 37-year-old striker cradling Bella alongside his daughter Alana.

The post read: ‘Home sweet home. Gio [Georgina] and our baby girl are finally together with us. We want to thank everyone for all the kind words and gestures.’

The couple have five children, two boys and three girls. Ronaldo has previously claimed that he wants seven children, to match his famous shirt number and lifestyle brand CR7.
