9.35PM, RTé2 ★★★★ After the previous episode, which served as a mid-season finale, ended with a literal cliffhanger, the long-running medical drama returns to let us know what happened next. It picks up as the doctors at Grey Sloan are struggling to deal with the aftermath of the car crash that left the lives of some of their colleagues hanging in the balance. Meanwhile, Meredith (Ellen Pompeo, right) works to save Dr Hamilton’s (Peter Gallagher) life after he was taken into surgery during the previous instalment, and Levi (Jake Borelli) tries to come to terms with his latest loss.

7.30PM, BBC2 ★★★ New series. Sara Cox invites guests Richard Osman, Deborah Frances-White, David Morrissey and Vick Hope to each bring with them their favourite book of all time to discuss. They also review this week’s two book club choices.

8.25PM, RTé2 ★★★ Nick Knowles travels to Dartford to meet Scott and Jenny, whose third son Charlie was born with cerebral palsy and developmental delay. The DIY SOS team transforms their end terrace, backed up by an army of local tradespeople.
