Foxx shells out in Brown Thomas

- By Niamh Walsh

HOLLYWOOD superstar Jamie Foxx succumbed to Dublin’s shopping charms this week as he dropped into Brown Thomas with a large and loud entourage.

The actor was followed by a security man carrying a boombox which blared out tunes as he walked down Grafton Street.

An onlooker who saw the star, one of Hollywood’s current biggest draws, said it would have been hard not to miss him.

‘He was followed by about 10 people. One of them was carrying one of those big stereos on his shoulders and the tunes were blaring out.

‘He was like the Pied Piper. It’s not that common you see a group of people following some lad down Grafton Steet with a big ol’ stereo,’ said a source.

Clearly a couture fan, Jamie was dressed in a Fendi monogram logo jacket teamed with lowslung slate grey denims, a cream fedora and sunglasses.

Foxx was on the hunt for some more fancy clothes as he hit BTs where he was seen leaving with his designer swag.

‘He dropped a fair few quid in BT. I’d say he spent in the high five figures. His entourage, of course, carried his bags for him,’ the source laughed.

Foxx was then ferried away in a convoy of blacked-out Mercedes wagons to a swanky Dublin hotel.

The Oscar-winner is understood to be in Dublin to host a TV game show series called Beat Shazam, in which contestants can win up to $1m in prizes.

The Texan, born Eric Bishop, hosts the show with his daughter Connie and while all the contestants are from the US, the audience is Irish.
