The Irish Mail on Sunday

TOMORROW evening,

-

at 7.30pm in Portlaoise, the first Leinster minor hurling final between Laois and Offaly takes place, and it’s on TG4. It’s the first one that hasn’t featured Kilkenny, Wexford or Dublin.

Offaly beat Dublin in the semifinal, while Laois lost one match in the round robin – to Offaly by a puck of a ball. They went on to beat Wexford and Kilkenny.

We haven’t won a Leinster since 2000; Laois since 1964. So it’s a big day for both teams, who will still be in the All-Ireland series no matter what. It’s a novel pairing and I can’t wait for it.
