IT’S A JUNGLE OUT THERE
Leopard print is a perennial favourite on the catwalks and in our wardrobes and this summer any and all animal print is in
Lions, tigers, zebras, oh my! This season animal prints aplenty roared the runways. Leopard was the print of choice for many designers including Roberto Cavalli, and Burberry proved the big cat print is back – but did it go anywhere?
Considered a neutral by many a fashion maven thanks to its versatility and ease of wear, leopard print has never really left the runways or our wardrobes.
For decades, the animal pattern has been a wardrobe staple adorned and worn by everyone from Jackie Kennedy to Alexa Chung. Even in 2022, the love affair with leopard certainly isn’t waning, with designers infusing colourful versions for the summer season, but for the most longevity, it’s best to stick to the classic leopard print.
Instead, add colour with other pieces. Leopard print easily pairs with fiery shades of red, zesty oranges and pretty pinks. When it comes to patterns, the fashion set wasn’t wrong when they said leopard is neutral, as the wild print goes with everything – even other prints. Watch it pair perfectly with florals, polka dots and stripes.
But it’s not just leopards stalking the runways, the whole safari was on display, including tiger and zebra, and because of their pared-back colourway, they are just as versatile as leopard print.
