IT WAS a hell of a homecoming for Niall Horan as the singer climbed through a window into a pub in his hometown of Mullingar yesterday before joining in an impromptu session.

He was in high spirits as he returned home to attend Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann Mullingar 2022, appropriately named The Homecoming, over the weekend.

Video footage of Horan went viral last night showing the star joining a trad session in Clarke’s Bar. A huge cheer erupted from revellers after the former One Direction singer, wearing a striking shirt, white trousers and sunglasses, climbed through a window to join a group of musicians seated in a corner of the Co. Westmeath bar.

The 28-year-old then led the group as they performed covers of rock ’n’ rock classics Take It Easy, Free Fallin’, This Town and Chasing Cars.

Horan has been going all out to connect with the public in recent days.

On Friday he and fellow singing star Lewis Capaldi delighted crowds in Dublin city centre with an impromptu busking session on Grafton Street.

The hitmakers surprised thrilled young busker Jacob Koopman by joining in and belting out several tunes including Horan’s hit Slow Hands and Coldplay’s Yellow.

The trio then joined in together for a version of Capaldi’s Before You Know.

Capaldi and Horan were also spotted earlier in the day in the city centre and at the Guinness Storehouse where they posed for photos with fans.

After stopping traffic in Dublin, Capaldi yesterday joined Horan at the Fleadh, where the famous friends were spotted posing beside the town’s large mural of its native son, Niall.

TG4, which is broadcasting the Fleadh, shared a video of the pair arriving in Mullingar, with Horan driving and Capaldi sitting in the passenger seat.

In the footage someone can be heard asking Capaldi, ‘Conas atá tú?’, before the Scottish singer responded with a cheeky comment.

‘Póg mo thóin,’ he called back as onlookers erupted in cheers.

Capaldi responded: ‘Póg mo thóin’
