Ireland are playing at quite the pace
STEPHEN Kenny has crammed in more games in two years as Republic of Ireland manager than any of his predecessors.
When Ireland’s players take on Scotland in Glasgow in the Nations League on
September 24, it will be Kenny’s 27th international in charge.
In comparison, Jack Charlton’s two-year anniversary as Irish boss coincided with his 16th game. Mick McCarthy and Giovanni Trapattoni were up to 22 games at that point, with Martin O’Neill on 21.
Brian Kerr (left) came closest to Kenny with 25 matches in his first two years as manager. John Giles was five years at the helm by the time he chalked up his 27th international, while Eoin Hand took four years to get to the mark.
