Bass waltzes from DWTS into movies and drama

DANCING With The Stars producer Larry Bass is taking a bit of a career sidestep with a major movie and THREE drama series in the pipeline, The Diary can reveal. Bass’s independent television company, ShinAwil has been pumping out productions largely borrowed from other formats for years. These familyfriendly packages, including DWTS and The Voice, have made Bass a serious player in Irish telly.

But recent filings at the Companies Office show his interest in the film and drama side of the entertainment business. One company was established to produce, film and syndicate a film starring Maggie Smith, Kathy Bates and Laura Linney.

Shooting on The Miracle Club wrapped a few months ago and Bass, pictured above with wife Catherine, is set to release and distribute it worldwide in 2023.

His drama series include The Clean Sweep – a six-part thriller starring Peaky Blinders star Charlene McKenna, left – which is set to air on RTÉ.
