ELEMENTARY HOLMES IN AMERICA
Jonny Lee Miller is excellent as an eccentric Sherlock in this entertaining and inventive modern-day take on the Conan Doyle stories. Recovering addict Holmes lives in Manhattan where he assists the police, aided and abetted by his ‘sober companion’, Dr Joan Watson (Lucy Liu). Riz Ahmed is superb as Ruben, the bitter drummer railing against his loss of hearing as he struggles with life in a special rural camp for deaf addicts.
